Weekend of Being Tall

Hey Tall Girl
I don’t have much to say today as I get prepared for going to Outdoor Retailer next week. But I wanted to share what I think is a fairly universal tall girl experience. Message me if I'm wrong! or send me your stories if you agree!
Saturday evening I was at a diner on my way to a horse show with my 12 year-old daughter. She is 12 years old and 5'11". We were sitting at the table waiting for our food when another tall woman came in. Clearly she had been on an adventure outside and was celebrating the day with food and ice cream! Of course, we both noticed and I started thinking wow she’s so tall she must be 6'2" or something of course I walked by to pick up my order and to see how tall she was when I discovered we were the same height [jaw drop]! Is this a relatively universal experience? When you see someone walking toward you, think oh my gosh they’re so tall and realize you’re the SAME height [or taller!?]?
After we finished eating, I walked up to the woman and gave her a card, in case like me she struggles to find tall active wear for her tall outdoor adventures, too! Her first comment was, “oh my God, yes! I’m gigantic” then she excitedly took my card.
I have two takeaways from this interaction; first, it’s amazing how tall tall people really look. Second the vocabulary we use to describe tall people is shockingly negative… I look forward to shifting that perspective as my daughters continue to grow and mature.

A little bragging with pics #shameless. She did great! The horse did GREAT! She even got first in her 3' division the first time jumping that height! And I watched, cheered, and made her lunch!
