Seasonal Closet Shuffle
Share
Hey Tall Girl,
Do you do the seasonal closet shuffle or just let your tank tops and puffer jackets duke it out for hanger space year-round? (That visual makes me dry-heave). Personally, I treat it like a sport. Out go the pieces I didn’t wear all season (looking at you, weird impulse-buy blouse), and in come the things I know I’ll live in for the next few months.
Sweaters move front and center, shorts get banished to the “less convenient” corner, and pants finally get their time to shine. Down in the basement, I’ve got bins that do double duty: ski gear and thermals in the winter, then swimsuits and sundresses in the summer. One bin, two personalities.
Of course, some things never get packed away. Our town has a few parades and fun weekends where my cowgirl outfits must be ready on demand. Cold weather or not, I’m not about to miss a good excuse for boots or sequins.
And then there are the unexpected MVPs: (While this is a business post, I was truly shocked how often I wore them this summer) my Alta Reina base layers. I thought they’d only see the light of day in winter, but turns out they’ve earned year-round status. Chilly trail run? Grab them. Early morning dog walk? Yep. Basically, they’ve bullied their way into permanent closet residency.
So tell me, do you rotate your closet, or is everything in there all the time, chaos style? And what’s the one piece you refuse to pack away, no matter the season?
Cheerfully,
